ENG - KL - Tawau - Semporna

After having attended a "Bodybalance" class at the gym and a last dinner at KL Chinatown it was time to get up at 3.30 am to go to the airport.
The flight was to Tawau, Borneo. From there shuttle bus to Tawau city and then minibus to Semporna. Minibus means mini bus. The space between the rather low backrest and the front row more or less matched exactly the length of my upper legs. So there was no real need for seat belts which certainly were not available anyways.
Luckily the ride took only two hours. Semporna is quite an unspectacular place. A little town with lots of people around (no clue what they do for a living when the have that much time to hang out on Tuesday afternoons).

The distinctive respiratory cleansing process seems even more commun in rural areas than in KL. Whenever I hear that initial noise from deep down in the lungs, I carefully watch my feet not to be in the line of fire of the outcome spat to wherever it's suitable. Maybe I'm just a bit weird in that respect as I grew up in a culture that prefers to use tissues.

The reason I came here for is - once again after quite a while - diving. Tomorrow I'll check in on a former oil rig that's been converted to a dive rig (http://www.seaventuresdive.com/about.html) sounds great to me.
