Yes, there is life after the dive rig.
I went with on of the other guests to Tawau for a night. Monday night is probably not a great night to go out anywhere, but there was decent food and we experienced a local bar - including Asian karaoke singing.
On Tuesday I flew to Kota Kinabalu (KK) to spend 2 days there before my onward travel to Singapore.
KK is a city, but it has a great night market for food and there are some day trips you can do.
I went for white water rafting and today to a wildlife park to at least see some of Borneo's wildlife.
The rafting was great fun.
In a few hours I'll fly on to Singapore, my last stop in Asia.
