After another day of diving, my last sunset on Koh Tao and saying goodbye to my friends there the adventure of the night boat trip started.
The boat has two stories, hight of the lower deck about 1.3m with rows of mattresses on either side. On the walls there are numbers that define your roughly 40cm bedspace.
I did check in early and got a bed number assigned. 20 mins before the scheduled departure I crawled with my luggage to that spot. I was first, but it turned out that three people were given the same number. We somehow all travelers did fit on the boat. Departure time turned out to be two hours after the time everybody was given by the travel agents. So we could already get used to the sardine can, respectively life stock feeling while still on the pier.
Somehow it was possible to get some sleep before we arrived at Suratthani to get assigned to the respective buses or minivans for onward travel. Luckily I got on a bus to Puhket and didn't have to take a few more hours of travel coziness in a minibus.
In Phuket the taxi driver did take a while until he found the my dive shop, but finally I arrived.
In about 3 hours I'll go on the liveaboard on the Similans for the next 5 days.
